Contra Costa Times reports on Walnut Creek Rally!

Walnut Creek and Contra Costa County were loud and clear Nov. 15th with their support for Equal Rights and Liberties for ALL!!!! When I started organizing this event, I thought having 50 people would be a great turnout… but we ended up with nearly 500!!! Thank you so much to each and every one of you for your support and commitment. It is all of you that helped make this event such a great success!

Huge Proposition 8 Protest – Gay Rights Rally

I received an e-mail from a San Diego local filmmaker/videographer that covered the huge San Diego march on the 8th. I enjoyed watching the footage and thought I’d share it will all of you. Enjoy!

We Still Need Volunteers!

With the protest just days away, we are still in need of volunteers to help get the word out about this event. Please download our flyer and post them anywhere you are able, leave stacks of them at local businesses and community centers. You can even print some out and post them inside your car… anything to help us get out the word!

I’ve compiled a list of neighborhoods we would like to target. If you can volunteer in any of these areas, please send us an e-mail at protest8contracosta@gmail.com and we will get you set up with a team(2-4) of volunteers. We are looking for people to hand out flyers in these areas… even if you can only commit to a small neighborhood area, please contact us and let us know where you will be. 

Lafayette:
Neighborhoods off Mt. Diablo Blvd

Walnut Creek:
Ygnacio Valley Rd (within 5 mile radius of the protest location)
Waldon/Treat Blvd area to Oak Grove Rd 

Concord:
Willow Pass Road (Within 3 mile radius of downtown area)

Pleasant Hill:
Pleasant Hill Rd/Gregory Ln area (within 1 mile radius)  
North Main Street(Contra Costa Blvd)/Taylor Blvd (within 1 mile radius)  

Martinez: 
Mountain View area/Downtown 

Pittsburg:
Loveridge Rd to Buchanan Rd (both sides of the street) 

Antioch:
Lone Tree Way/Hillcrest Ave/Deer Valley Rd
