**Update**
After setting up this page a few days ago, I received a message from a family who will be attending our rally at Walnut Creek City Hall. Their story was so touching, that I asked them if I could share it publicly with all of you. Below is the story they shared with me:
“I had to explain to my daughter, who is six, why we needed to make sure that this is so important. I explained to her that people were trying to tell the parents of several of her friends that they were no longer allowed to be married. She has never in her life been told that marriage is anything but a vow that two people in love that want to be a family do. I never even mentioned to her that there are people out there that think that people of the same sex shouldn’t be married. I didn’t want her to ever think that there is a difference between a man loving a man, a woman loving a woman, or a man loving a woman.
Love and family are love and family. So it was heartbreaking to me to have to explain it to her. Bless her little heart, she was outraged. She is helping me plan my wedding to her step father in May, so marriage and weddings are a constant topic of conversation around our house anyway. The only weddings that she has attended in her life were the weddings of her two best friends parents, both happened to be gay male couples.
She asked me what I thought we should do to help, so I had her make a sign for our window and our car. She is what made me look into a protest or march that I could take her to so she could show her support.”
What an AMAZING story! If you would like to share your stories and experiences, please e-mail Brittney at protest8contracosta@gmail.com. Together, we CAN make a difference!

I would really like to expand this site further, beyond the upcoming rally on November 15th. I’m looking for volunteers to send us photos and videos from the rallies you have participated in, either before or after the passage of prop 8. I want to put together a Flickr group to display all of our images, and eventually a YouTube page to post all of our videos from people around Contra Costa County. The videos can be personal, face to face conversations, or footage of the protests you have attended, I’m looking for anything you feel will help.
Please send your submissions to: protest8contracosta@gmail.com
Thanks,

Please share this with your family and friends… this video brought me to tears the first time I saw it.
One of my son’s closest friends has two moms. He and his sister are great kids, with two great moms. One of the moms is a partner in a SF law firm, and also my son’s mentor. They are loving mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends, why would we allow their rights to be taken from them.
I will be there tomorrow.
Thank you for sharing, Liz. You are absolutely right, we will not give up until this battle has been won, once and for all!
